Autogate System Overview
As of June 1, 2024, Malaysia has expanded its autogate system to include citizens from 63 countries, making immigration clearance faster and more efficient for eligible travelers.
The autogate system uses advanced biometric technology to verify traveler identity automatically, significantly reducing wait times at immigration counters.
Requirements for Autogate Use
- Nationality from eligible country
- E-passport with biometric chip
- Valid MDAC submitted 3 days prior
- Passport valid for at least 6 months
- First-time visitors must use manual counter initially

Important Information
First-Time Visitors
If this is your first visit to Malaysia, you must use the manual immigration counter for initial passport verification and biometric enrollment. Subsequent visits can use the autogate system.
E-Passport Required
Only e-passports with biometric chips are compatible with the autogate system. Older passport types must use manual immigration counters.
MDAC Requirement
You must submit your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) at least 3 days before your arrival to be eligible for autogate use.
Submit MDAC NowDiplomatic Travelers
Diplomats stationed in Malaysia and their family members are also eligible to use the autogate system regardless of nationality.
